Service Technician | Permanent | Hertford | £35,000 - £38,000

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our busy garage in Hertford. The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring our customers receive the highest standard of care and service.

The Basics:

• Service Technician

• Hertford

• Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 17:00 pm + x 2 Saturdays per month 8:30 – 13:00

• £35,000 - £38,000 dependant on experience

  
  

The Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles.

• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs in line with manufacturer standards.

• Conduct MOT preparations and inspections (if qualified).

• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.

  
  

Skills & Requirements

• Must have EV Certification

• Must have air conditioning Certification

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).

• Proven experience as a Service Technician / Mechanic in a car garage or dealership.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• MOT Tester qualification (desirable, but not essential).

• Full UK driving licence.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to high standards of workmanship and customer care.
