We are seeking a dynamic and driven Operations Director to join our client, who are a leading provider of technology solutions in Field Mobility, Data Capture, and Industrial Automation. Renowned for their technical expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction, they serve a wide range of industries, including Aerospace, Retail, Warehousing & Logistics, and Manufacturing.

As they continue to scale, our client is expanding their operations team, including the development of a warehouse and configuration centre. To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Operations Director who will play a key role in building and leading the operational framework that will drive their next phase of success.

This is a pivotal leadership role. The Operations Director will own all aspects of our operational delivery – covering service, logistics, support, HR, finance, and internal processes. You’ll be the glue between commercial ambition and operational execution, ensuring we scale sustainably and profitably.

The Basics

• Salary is £60-£80k pa depending on experience

• Location: Office in Hertfordshire, with some flexibility to work from home from time to time

• Mon – Fri – 9:00am – 17:00pm

The Responsibilities:

• Operational Setup & Leadership: Build and scale core functions including our new warehouse, service centre, and configuration team

• Team Development: Structure and lead teams across Sales Operations, Technical Support, Managed Services, HR and Finance

• Process & Service Excellence: Drive service performance, OTIF, and customer experience through operational process design and optimisation

• Cross-Functional Ownership: Lead all areas outside of Sales and Marketing

• Transformation & Growth Support: Support large project mobilisation and post-win scaling

• Governance & Reporting: Establish operational KPIs, controls, and reporting frameworks aligned to business targets

  
  

The Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience in multi-disciplinary operational leadership roles (Director / GM level)

• Track record in scaling service/ops functions within high-growth or transformation environments

• Strong background in supply chain, warehousing, and technical service delivery

• Practical, hands-on leader with strategic thinking and a strong execution bias

• Skilled in coaching, process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), and cultural change

• Able to thrive in entrepreneurial and fast
